"I guess it would be that to win you have to work harder than the competition. So train, train, train."
What is one thing you do for your mind, body, and soul every day?
Exercise! I have to do something, run, ride or get to the gym. Clears my head and helps me focus!
What is one step in your routine you find vital for a great day?
Several things, stay hydrated and have a good healthy breakfast.
How do you transition your training in the off-season to stay at the top of your game?
The season is pretty long, really only stop for November and December if we are heading to Australia in their summer. But stick with what I do all the time, at my age it takes too long to build back up and, see answer 1!
Is there an athlete or figure you looked up to in sports? Who was it and why?
For me it is people who play hard, but completely fairly and clean and always have the respect of those they are competing against. That is more important than winning. So, a Danish sailor named Paul Elvstrom famously said, “You haven't won the race, if in winning the race you have lost the respect of your competitors.”
What is one quote or mantra you live by?
I guess it would be that to win you have to work harder than the competition. So train, train, train.
